Business for Peace

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People aims to promote solidarity with the Palestine community, contributing to international awareness of the obstacles to the peace process. There is a focus on issues requiring urgent action such as the blockade of Gaza and the ongoing humanitarian crises occurring in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The International Year of Solidarity advocates global action, but also recognises the instrumental role of those creating change in the Israeli and Palestine communities.

‘Business for peace’ is the concept promoted by Sindyanna of Galilee, selling traditional and premium olive oils, soaps and spices using fair trade principles. As a non-profit they return their profits back into educating Arab women while aiming to bridge cultural divides, encouraging sustainable agriculture, and supporting organic farming. It is a great example of Jewish and Arab women working together to provide equal opportunities in development and employment.

Fair Trade WA Oxfam currently stocks Sindyanna olive oil soaps, Dead Sea mud soaps and Za'atar Arabic Spice. Come into the store in Bayswater and give your support to both fair trade and peace in Palestine.
